Fall 2011  Garden Newsletter

Wow, can school be starting next week??!!  It must be, because we are receiving tons of new shipments for fall.  Here is a sneak peak, with some planting tips and design ideas.

Garden Centre

Winter icicle pansies have arrived
Cold tolerant and guaranteed to come back next spring!  Lots of quick, inexpensive fall and next spring colour! Use them to refresh summer urns or as mass plantings for big blocks of color.

Fall Plantables are here.
Peppers, Coral Bells, Strawflowers and more - frost tolerant and an inexpensive colour jolt for your fall containers and gardens.

Own-grown Perennial Mums are ready!
Fully hardy, well rooted and guaranteed to overwinter (not like the ‘Big Box’ mums!). Use them in your perennial borders for hits of seasonal color. We mass plant them at our road sign to announce the season. If using them in containers, plant them ( and any other container perennials you may have in containers) into the garden by the end of September. This gets them setting down new roots before freeze up.

Fall Bulbs at our Garden Centre
Tulips, daffs, hyacinth, etc.  We specialize in rodent repelling bulbs.  These are poisonous bulbs that are also odorous (“smelly”), repelling critters to help protect your garden investments.  Easy care and long lasting - the most inexpensive way to get years and years of spring colour. Plant bulbs in clumps, groupings and drifts for the most dramatic display of color. Small varieties need no deadheading! Larger varieties like Tulips and Daffodils are best planted among shrubs and large perennials to hide their dying foliage.

New Perennials for fall planting
Daisies, Coneflowers, Sages, Asters and Sedums plus exotics like Gentian, Turtlehead, new grasses and so many more!  Come on in - they just arrived today!

New Gift Shop items!
We have received some great, new patio furniture.  You will be amazed at the prices! One of our suppliers had a moving sale, and we scooped up some excellent deals on high-quality, exceptional sets. We have 7 piece dinning sets, bistro sets, umbrellas, gliders and more!    We have some new trellises, iron garden flowers and wall art made locally and very remarkable!  As always, we have found some unique and interesting garden and home decor items.  Come in and have a look - it is never too early to start thinking Christmas gifts!
